      Effective March 18, 2020, at 5:00 p.m., the Meade County Courthouse is closed to the public. Urgent County business may be conducted by special appointment with the individual departments.

Meade County was established in 1885. The county seat is located in Meade, Kansas. The original courthouse was built in 1888 and was replaced with the current building pictured above in 1928.

HOURS OF OPERATION The Courthouse is open to the general public during the following hours. (Individual departments may have different hours of operation.)


Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Closed on Saturday, Sunday and all County Holidays

All offices are open through normal lunch hours.
