Appraiser's Office
The County Appraiser, with the assistance of staff members, is responsible for the discovery, listing, and the uniform and equitable appraisal of all taxable and exempt real and personal property in compliance with the constitution and statutes of the State of Kansas for tax purposes.

Court
District Courts are created by the Constitution. They are the record and trial courts of Kansas, with general original jurisdiction over all civil and criminal cases, including divorce and domestic relations, damage suits, probate and administration of estates, guardianships, conservatorships, care of the mentally ill, juvenile matters, and small claims. It is here that the criminal and civil jury trials are held. District courts also have appellate jurisdiction over municipal courts. Appeals may be taken from the district courts to the Court of Appeals, or to the Supreme Court.

Emergency Medical Services
The primary purpose of the Meade County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is to provide effective, efficient pre-hospital care and transportation by trained personnel. With proper assessment, adequate treatment and skills, and prompt transport, the initial patient management will save lives.

Our focus in Kansas is on solving grand challenges in our state pertaining to water, health, global food systems, vitalizing our communities, and developing tomorrow's leaders.

The mission of Meade County Health Department is to prevent disease, promote wellness, and protect the health of the citizens of Meade County.

Noxious Weed
The Meade County Weed Department administers the Kansas Noxious Weed Law (KSA 2-1314) in Meade County. We treat all noxious weeds found on county property and contract with Kansas Department of Transportation, railroads, townships, and individuals to treat noxious weeds. We also share the cost of herbicides required by landowners and operators in the county to treat noxious weeds on their property.
